Rain forces postponement of Friday's Tigers-Indians game
With a steady rain coming down on Progressive Field in the hours leading up to the scheduled start time, the Detroit Tigers and the Cleveland Indians postponed their game. Both teams will make up the game as part of a traditional doubleheader this Sunday afternoon at 1 pm.
Due to the postponement, starting pitchers Justin Verlander (DET) and Cody Anderson (CLE) -- Friday's scheduled starters -- will square off this Saturday night at 7 pm.
As for Sunday, the pitching matchups for Game 1 will feature Trevor Bauer of the Indians against Detroit's Matt Boyd and Game 2 will pit Cleveland's Carlos Carrasco against Tigers left-hander Randy Wolf.
