Blue Jays & Royals wrap up ALDS with Game 5 victories
Jose Bautista hit a three-run homerun after Texas committed three errors in the 7th inning to help the Toronto Blue Jays earn a 6-3 victory over the Rangers in the deciding Game 5 of the AL Division Series. Toronto became the third team in history to win a best-of-five series after losing the first two games at home. The 2001 Yankees and the 2012 Giants did it and both of them went on to reach the World Series.
Johnny Cueto pitched eight dominant innings as the Kansas City Royals rallied for a 7-2 victory over the Houston Astros that would send them back to the American League Championship Series. Kansas City will host Toronto in Game 1 of the ALCS this Friday night. Both teams have met once before in the ALCS with the Royals winning in seven games in 1985 -- the same year that KC won their only World Series title.
