Morton joins 1,000-point club as EMU defeats Monmouth, 78-68
Junior Janay Morton became the newest member of the 1,000-point club as the Eastern Michigan Eagles held on to earn a 78-68 win over the Monmouth Hawks. Eastern led by as many as 18 points before Monmouth attempted a comeback in the 4th quarter.
Junior Phillis Webb recorded her first double-double of the season, scoring 20 points while grabbing 11 rebounds while junior Cha Sweeney led all of EMU with 26 points. Graduate transfer Chanise Baldwin contributed with 10 rebounds.
After taking their final exams, the Eagles will return to action next Friday (Dec. 18 ) when they visit Madonna for a 7 pm game.
