Strong 2nd period helps Red Wings get past Calgary, 4-2
Dylan Larkin & Brad Richards scored 45 seconds apart midway through the 2nd period and Gustav Nyquist added another goal late in the period to help the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Calgary Flames, 4-2.
Justin Abdelkader scored an empty-net goal with 30 seconds left in the game to seal the victory and goaltender Petr Mrazek made 26 saves for Detroit.
Before going away for the holidays, the Red Wings will play one more game at the Joe Louis Arena against New Jersey this Tuesday night at 7:30 pm.
