MSU women lose grip late in title game; UDM men eliminated
The Maryland Terrapins used an 11-0 run in the 3rd quarter to take the lead and pull away from the Michigan State Spartans for a 60-44 win to claim their second consecutive Big Ten championship. Tori Jankoska led Michigan State with 12 points, but MSU were outrebounded 47-35 and shot just 32% (18-of-56) from the floor. With a record of 24-8, the Spartans will have to wait until Monday, March 14th to see where they will be placed in the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
JT Yoho scored 20 points and Michael Karena added 19 points as the Wright State Raiders eliminated the Detroit Titans in the Horizon League quarterfinals, 82-72. Paris Bass recorded 24 points & 13 rebounds for Detroit and Carlton Brundidge added 18 points. Barely finishing above .500 (16-15), the Titans will have to wait & see if they'll even be a part of this year's postseason next week.
