Pistons hold off Hornets to stay within reach of #7 spot, 112-105
Marcus Morris scored 20 points as the Detroit Pistons overwhelmed the Charlotte Hornets with their highest-scoring first half of the season en route to a 112-105 victory. The Pistons led 72-56 at halftime, won their fifth straight game, and took a two-game lead over Chicago for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Andre Drummond had 18 points & 14 rebounds, Reggie Jackson added 17 points, Morris scored 19 of his 20 points in the 1st half, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope contributed with 16 of his 21 points in the 2nd half for Detroit.
The Pistons (39-34 / .534) pulled within a percentage point of 7th-place Indiana (38-33 / .535) and will look to improve on their playoff position when they host Atlanta at the Palace of Auburn Hills this Saturday night at 7:30 pm.
