Tigers suffer rough start as Royals win, 8-4
Wade Davis pitched a perfect 9th inning in his return from a strained forearm as the Kansas City Royals defeated the Detroit Tigers, 8-4.
Ian Kinsler homered for the Tigers, but Detroit faced a significant deficit before they even came up to bat for the first time. Starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey (2-9) allowed five runs, four hits, and four walks in just 1 & 2/3 innings.
The Tigers still remain 6 & 1/2 games behind Cleveland in the Central division and will look to get one over the Royals this Sunday afternoon at 1 pm.
