Sanchez suffers rough day as Tigers fall to Royals, 6-2
Alcides Escobar hit a leadoff homerun and caught Miguel Cabrera's line drive two innings later to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 6-2 victory over the Detroit Tigers.
Detroit's starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez (2-4) allowed six runs and nine hits in six innings, thus damaging his ERA to 5.44 on the season.
The Tigers will celebrate Mother's Day by wrapping up their three-game weekend series against the Royals at Comerica Park this Sunday night at 8 pm.
