Cabrera hits HR in 9th to help Tigers beat Boston, 4-3
Miguel Cabrera hit a tiebreaking homerun in the 9th inning that skipped off the top of the wall and into Boston's bullpen to help the Detroit Tigers earn a 4-3 victory over the Red Sox for a three-game sweep. Boston was the last major league team to be swept in a series of any length this season.
James McCann also hit a solo homerun and Victor Martinez had four singles, a walk, & drove in two runs for Detroit, who have won five out of their last seven games.
The Tigers will return home to Comerica Park for the next nine games, beginning with a three-game weekend series against the Houston Astros. The first game is set for this Friday night at 7 pm.
