Spartans open Big Ten season with OT win vs. Minnesota, 75-74

Alvin Ellis III made two free throws with 10.6 seconds left in overtime to finish with a career-high 20 points and to help the struggling Michigan State Spartans earn a 75-74 comeback victory over Minnesota after the Golden Gophers led by 13 points at halftime.
Nick Ward had 22 points and 10 rebounds for MSU, who improved to 9-5 after opening their Big Ten season with a victory.
The Spartans will look to follow through with another win when they return home to East Lansing to host Northwestern this Friday night at 6 pm.
