Abdelkader helps Red Wings avoid collapse with 3-2 OT win
Justin Abdelkader scored 2:31 into overtime as the Detroit Red Wings earned a 3-2 overtime win over the Vancouver Canucks.
Frans Nielsen scored twice in the 1st period for Detroit and Henrik Zetterberg had two assists. Goaltender Petr Mrazek made 25 saves.
Even after trading away Steve Ott to Montreal, the Red Wings will continue their Canadian trip when they visit Calgary to take on the Flames this Friday night at 9 pm ET.
