To get his first Major League win, Buck Farmer (1-0) struck out a career-high 11 batters as the Detroit Tigers avoided a collapse by holding on to defeat the Chicago White Sox, 4-3, in the second game of the doubleheader, that was meant for Friday, but was rained out.
