Lions add to offense with Young & Leshoure in Day 2 of draft
After drafting defensive tackle Nick Fairley Friday, the Detroit Lions went with offense on Saturday. With the 44th overall pick in the 2nd round, Detroit drafted wide receiver Titus Young from Boise State. At 5'11 & 174 pounds, Young is a dynamic player who returned punts and kicks while averaging 114 all-purpose yards on offense.
As the draft continued, the Lions were supposed to have a pick in the 3rd round, but decided to trade it to the Seattle Seahawks for their 57th overall pick in the 2nd round. With that, Detroit picked up running back Mikel Leshoure from Illinois. Standing six foot and weighing 227 pounds, Leshoure is a bruiser who averaged just over six yards-per-carry in 2010, finishing the year with 2,557 rushing yards.
If there are no more trades to be made, the Lions will have two more picks in the 5th & 7th round before the 2011 NFL Draft concludes on Sunday.
