Devin Setoguchi scored 9:21 into overtime to finish a hat trick as the San Jose Sharks took a commanding 3-0 lead over the Detroit Red Wings in the Western Conference semifinals with a 4-3 win.

San Jose’s Dan Boyle scored the tying goal with 4:08 left in regulation, setting up the Sharks’ second overtime win of the series.

Pavel Datsyuk scored a go-ahead goal late in the second period, but Detroit couldn’t hold on.

The Red Wings also didn’t capitalize when Setoguchi went to the penalty box at 5:14 of overtime for holding, failing to score a third power-play goal.

All the Wings can do now is prevent a sweep in Game 4 this Friday night at the Joe Louis Arena.

Zdeno Chara and David Krejci scored in the opening 63 seconds, and the Boston Bruins added two more goals in a 95-second span in the second period to beat the Philadelphia Flyers, 5-1 and take a 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals. It’s the same position Boston was in last year before losing four straight games—and the series—to the Flyers.

Sean Bergenheim scored two goals and Dwayne Roloson stopped 33 shots, helping the streaking Tampa Bay Lightning complete a series sweep of the top-seeded Washington Capitals with a 5-3 victory in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals. Playing on consecutive nights for the first time this postseason, the fifth-seeded Lightning extended their winning streak to seven games and advanced to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since their 2004 Stanley Cup championship season.
