Lottery gives Pistons 8th pick in this year's NBA draft
The Detroit Pistons had a 4.3 percent chance of winning the draft lottery and were in good position to pick 7th, but instead they dropped one spot and will pick 8th in the NBA draft, which is set for June 23rd.
The Pistons would've picked 7th, but their 23% chance of dropping was enough.
Greg Monroe represented the Pistons at the lottery in Secaucus, N.J., and wore a "CD" pin in honor of the late head coach & 2-time NBA champion Chuck Daly. But the pin didn't deliver any luck for the Pistons, who were in the lottery for the sixth time since the lottery's inception in 1985.
Now the Pistons will focus on who they will select at #8 from what's being termed one of the weakest drafts in recent history.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers won the draft lottery by securing the first and fourth picks in the first round.
