Dream advance to East finals; Silver Stars force Game 3

Angel McCoughtry was one of four Atlanta players to score 12 points, getting all of her points in the second half, as the Atlanta Dream used another fourth-quarter surge to rally past the Connecticut Sun for a 69-64 win and their second straight trip to the WNBA Eastern Conference finals. Tina Charles' jumper at the start of the fourth period gave the Sun a 53-44 lead, but then the Dream started driving and out-scored Connecticut 25-11 the rest of the way to sweep the series. Atlanta will open the Eastern Conference finals Thursday against the winner of Monday night's Game 3 between Indiana and New York.



Jia Perkins scored 24 points and Sophia Young had 23 as the San Antonio Silver Stars beat the Minnesota Lynx, 84-75 to even the Western Conference semifinals series at a game apiece. Becky Hammon added 18 for the Silver Stars, who had lost seven straight games to Minnesota and are trying to get past the first round for the first time since reaching the WNBA finals in 2008. The deciding Game 3 will be this Tuesday night at Minnesota.
