The Detroit Tigers and the Texas Rangers met for the first time since last year's American League Championship series. The result was the same. The Rangers won 10-3 with a fine pitching performance from pitching sensation Yu Darvish, and an aggressive lineup that just would not quit.

The Tigers sent rookie Adam Wilk to the mound, and he lasted to the fourth inning yielding three runs on ten hits. The wheels started to fall off as the Tigers went to the bullpen.

Collin Balester allowed two runs in two innings of work. Leyland then went to lefty Daniel Schlereth who gave up five runs. Duane Below was the last Tiger pitcher of the evening. Darvish went six innings for the Rangers giving up just one run on two hits. The Tigers did scratch out three runs on the night.

A double by Delmon Young drove in Prince Fielder in the fourth, and a two out single in the eighth by Don Kelly brought in the big guys Cabrera and Fielder.

The Rangers posted nineteen hits on a night that the Tigers looked flat. Returning from a long road trip in Chicago, and Kansas City, the Tigers were out of gas. They had better rest up tonight, because the Rangers come right back tomorrow night, and they are playing very good baseball right now.
