[/url]Austin Jackson had four hits while starter Rick Porcello pitched eight innings leading the Tigers past Kansas City 9-3. Detroit put five up in the fist innings led by Miguel Cabrera's RBI double. Porcello went to work with 16 ground ball outs striking out three and allowing seven hits.
Jackson's four hits marks the second time since 1918 besides Harvey Kuenn are the only two Tigers players to have three 4-or-more hit games in the team's first 23 games of a season.
Cabrera with two hits has hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games dating back to April 17th.
