Peralta's errors in the 8th cost Tigers in loss to Cubs, 4-3
Tigers shortstop Jhonny Peralta made throwing errors on two consecutive two-out grounders to allow the Chicago Cubs to score the 8th-inning run that beat Detroit, 4-3 at a sold-out Wrigley Field.
Despite the loss, Austin Jackson, for the second straight game, produced the tying two-run hit in that rally. This time it was a single off right-hander Casey Coleman, son of former Tigers All-Star right-hander Joe Coleman.
The Tigers will attempt to redeem themselves Wednesday night against the Cubs when Rick Porcello steps up to the mound for Detroit.
