Tonight the proverbial wheels fell off for the Detroit Tiger bullpen, as a close game became a total wash-out in extra innings, they lose to Colorado 12-4. The Rockies started the scoring with two runs in their half of the third inning. Detroit answered with three in the bottom half of the third. Colorado added two more runs in the fourth. The Tigers scored their fourth and final run of the game in the sixth, on a sacrifice from Brennan Boesch, scoring Bryan Holaday, making it 4-4.The score would remain knotted up until the 10th inning when the Rockies exploded on Jose Valverde, and Luis Marte for a franchise-record eight runs, including homers from Michael Cuddyer and Eric Young. Matt Belisle got the win increasing his record to (3-2, 2.29) on the year, while Jose Valverde receives the loss going to (3-2, 4.50) for the season.

The Tigers hope to bounce back Saturday afternoon. They send a newly mended Doug Fister (0-3, 3.15) to the mound to face Christian Friedrich (4-2, 5.85)
