Jhonny Peralta's two run homer in the second inning followed up by Max Scherzer's seven innings of work allowing five hits Tigers beat the Royals 7-1.
Peralta a career day 3x4 with the homer in the second and two doubles and three RBI, Scherzer (8-5) threw 109 pitches and 76 were strikes walking one striking out seven.
Austin Jackson extended his career hitting streak to 15 games with a single in the fifth inning. Prince Fielder with a three run homer his 15th of the season.
Detroit has won five straight games and with the All-Star break they win rest then play at Baltimore this coming Friday Night.
