Mark Teixeira and Eric Chavez hit back to back homers in the eighth inning leading the Yankees last the Tigers 4-3.
Detroit had a 3-2 lead going into the eighth led by Alex Avila's two homer and Andy Dirks double in the three run fifth inning. Joaquin Benoit (1-3) started the eighth allowing the two homers while Doug Fister pitched into the seventh inning allowing two runs and eight hits.
Tigers start a road trip Friday in Texas against the Rangers, Max Scherzer pitches for Detroit...Game Time 8:05pm
