Tigers stumble, lose game one of doubleheader to Twins 10-4.

The Tigers scored early going up 2-0 with RBI's from Miguel Cabrera and Delmon Young. Max Scherzer pitched well through five innings but in the sixth inning the Twins bats came to life. Joe Mauer started a five-run sixth with the first of his four RBI's. Scherzer was struck for three runs, and the bullpen was hit hard surrendering seven more runs. Scott Diamond pitched seven innings for the Twins allowing just two runs on four hits for his 12th win of the year. Avisail Garcia knocked in two runs to make it 10-4 in the ninth, but that would be all the scoring for the Tigers.
Detroit hopes to take the nightcap when they send Drew Smyly to the mound to face Twins starter P.J. Walters.
