With the Dodgers loss, Cardinals claim 2nd wild card spot

After falling, 3-1, to the Cincinnati Reds, the St. Louis Cardinals became the second wild card team of the National League to enter the playoffs after seeing the L.A. Dodgers lose to San Francisco, 4-3. With one more game to play in the regular season this Wednesday, the Cardinals will prepare to travel to Atlanta to face the Braves on Friday to play one game to decide who will move on to the NL Division Series.

AL EAST - Baltimore continued to pursue the top spot in the division with a 1-0 shutout win over Tampa Bay, but the N.Y. Yankees also won in defeating Boston, 4-3, and with the magic number of 1, they could win the East with a win or a Baltimore loss.

AL WEST - With Oakland defeating Texas, 3-1, the Athletics have tied the Rangers for 1st place and sets the stage for this Wednesday afternoon on the last day of the regular season. The winner will become division champions while the loser represents the wild card.
