Rays & Cardinals inch closer to wild card leaders

NL WILD CARD - With Atlanta losing to Washington Saturday, St. Louis was able to move closer to the Braves after defeating the Chicago Cubs. The Braves' magic number is 3, but the Cardinals are now only 2 games behind them.
AL WILD CARD - Despite the thumping by the AL East champion N.Y. Yankees on Saturday, Boston will have a chance Sunday to take their magic number from 4 all the way down to 1, if they can knock down the Yankees in a doubleheader and have Tampa Bay lose to Toronto. Speaking of the Rays, with their win last night, they are now a game & a half behind the Red Sox for the top wild card spot.
