Doug Fister did not last past the fourth inning and Boston outslugged Detroit 10-6. Shane Victorino had four hits including a homerun
for the Red Sox as they led early 6-1.

The Tigers bounced back by the bat of Miguel Cabrera hitting his 20th homerun a three run shot in a four run fifth inning cutting Boston's lead to 6-5 but Detroit bullpen stuggled and the Red Sox scored one in the sixth two in the eighth and one in the ninth.

Fister (6-5) allowing the six runs and eleven hits and Cabrera's four hits increased his batting average to .368.
