Omar Infante's RBI helps Tigers shutout White Sox, 1-0

Omar Infante's RBI single in the 8th inning was the game's only run as the Detroit Tigers ended their nine-game road trip with a 1-0 shutout win over the Chicago White Sox. Combined with Cleveland losing to Kansas City, 6-2, the win reduces Detroit's magic number in the AL Central Division to 11.

Anibal Sanchez (14-7) struck out 10 in 7 & 1/3 innings, allowing five hits and four walks on 116 pitches. Prince Fielder and Victor Martinez hit one-out singles off Sox reliever Matt Lindstrom, allowing Infante to hit one just out of the reach of Alexei Ramirez to bring Fielder home for the game-winner.

After resting on Thursday, the Tigers will return home to Comerica Park to start a 3-game weekend series with Kansas City. The first game will be this Friday night at 7 pm with Justin Verlander starting for Detroit.
