The Detroit Tigers were shutout in Game 2 of the American League Division Series after Strephen Vogt’s walkoff single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Oakland Athletics a 1-0 win.

Sonny Gray, a rookie right-hander, gave the A’s eight shutout innings, even after allowing four hits and two walks with nine strikeouts while Justin Verlander gave the Tigers seven scoreless innings, allowing four hits and one walk and struck out 11.

With the ALDS tied at one, the Tigers, who have struggled to score a run in their last 17 innings of play, are heading back to home to Detroit for Game 3 this Monday afternoon at 1 pm inside Comerica Park.

David Ortiz hit two homeruns in the postseason for the first time in his career to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 7-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays to gain a 2-0 lead in the AL Division Series. With a sweep on their minds, the Red Sox will head to Tampa Bay for Game 3 this Monday evening at 6 pm.
