Titans unable to stop Akron's 2nd half surge in 79-60 loss
The Akron Zips opened the 2nd half with a 25-6 run and finished the half scoring 58 points to defeat the Detroit Titans, 79-60, at the James A. Rhodes Arena. The Titans led 30-21 at the half, before the Zips made three straight 3-pointers to tie the game to open the 2nd half.
Detroit was led by sophomore guard Anton Wilson who finished with 16 points (11 in the 2nd half) while junior forward Juwan Howard Jr. finished with 13 points and senior co-captain Evan Bruinsma recorded 12 points & six rebounds.
Detroit will conclude their three-game road trip with a visit to Bowling Green this Sunday afternoon at 2 pm at the Stroh Center before returning home to Calihan Hall to host Indiana Tech on Monday.
