RED WINGS BLANKED AT HOME AGAINST THE ISLANDERS 3-0

Detroit had only 23 shots on net and the Islanders three first period goals were the story losing 3-0 at Joe Louis Arena.
Down 3-0 in the second the Red Wings were strong outshooting New York 11-2 but do not score. Defensman Jonathan Ericsson left the game with an upper body injury.
Detroit plays Saturday in Florida against the Panthers.
