Red Wings earn 4-1 victory against Montreal at the Joe
After defeating Chicago, 5-4, in a six-round shootout last Wednesday, The Detroit Red Wings won their 2nd straight game for the first time in over a month with a 4-1 victory against the Montreal Canadiens in another Original Six matchup at the Joe Louis Arena. The win pushed Detroit to 56 points, only three behind Montreal, who sits in third place in the Atlantic Division.
Henrik Zetterberg and Niklas Kronwall scored as well as rookie Riley Sheahan, who eventually scored the game-winner. Gustav Nyquist also scored for the second straight game.
Detroit will complete their 5-game home stand this week when they face the Florida Panthers this Sunday evening at 5 pm.
