Cavaliers stun Pistons to end 1st half of season, 93-89
Kyrie Irving's three-pointer as the shot clock expired with under 30 seconds remaining lifted the Cleveland Cavaliers past the Detroit Pistons, 93-89, at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The loss snapped Detroit's three-game winning streak.
Five Pistons were in double figures, includingt Josh Smith, who led with 18 points & 10 rebounds. Greg Monroe had 16 points and Andre Drummond finished with 16 points & 17 rebounds. Despite the individual efforts, Detroit shot just 40% (33-for-83) from the field and made only 4-of-23 (17%) from three-point range. The Pistons outrebounded the Cavs, 53-45, but had 16 turnovers.
Once the All-Star break in New Orleans this weekend is over, the Pistons will be back in action this Tuesday night at the Palace when they host the Charlotte Bobcats at 7:30 pm.
