Pistons end 1st half of season with loss to Spurs, 104-87
Getting even after a loss last month, Danny Green scored 19 points and Tony Parker added 17 points as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Detroit Pistons, 104-87, at the Palace of Auburn Hills. The Spurs held the Pistons to just 12 points in the 1st quarter.
D.J. Augustin scored 22 points for Detroit and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 20 points, but Andre Drummond & Greg Monroe to held to just 7-of-20 shooting. The Pistons end the 1st half of the regular season at 21-33, just two games out of the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
The All-Star festivites will take place in New York this weekend, with Caldwell-Pope participating for Team USA in the Rising Stars Challenge against the World this Friday night at 9 pm. In addition, Swin Cash, a 3-time WNBA champion with the Detroit Shock (2003, 2006, 2008), will be a part of Team Bosh in the Shooting Skills Challenge this Saturday night at 8 pm.
