Anaheim's late goal halts Red Wings at the Joe, 3-2
Ryan Getzlaf scored two goals, including the unassisted game-winner with 24 seconds left, to give the Anaheim Ducks a 3-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings.
Gustav Nyquist & Luke Glendening scored for Detroit and goaltender Jimmy Howard finished the night with 23 saves. Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock was animated after the game-winner as replays showed Getzlaf hooking Niklas Kronwall before getting free with the puck.
Detroit will put this loss behind them and rest for a few days before returning to action this Wednesday night at 8 pm inside the Joe Louis Arena as they face the Boston Bruins once again. The previous meeting was this past Thursday when the Red Wings prevailed, 2-1.
