Red Wings unable to overcome Montreal's offense in 4-1 loss
The Montreal Canadiens posted their sixth straight win in defeating the Detroit Red Wings at the Joe Louis Arena, 4-1. In Montreal's second goal, P.K. Subban executed perhaps the most painful goal in NHL history when he delivered an inadvertent low blow with the puck to Kyle Quincy that deflected into the net.
Riley Sheahan scored the lone goal for the Red Wings and goaltender Jimmy Howard ended the night with only 15 saves.
Detroit will spend the upcoming week on the road, starting with this Tuesday night when they travel to Columbus to face the Blue Jackets at 7 pm.
