Red Wings unable to hold on to lead in OT loss to Montreal, 2-1
Alex Galchenyuk scored at 3:37 of overtime as the NHL-leading Montreal Canadiens defeated the Detroit Red Wings, 2-1.
Justin Abdelkader scored for Detroit (10-11-2) and goaltender Petr Mrazek made 22 saves in the absence of Jimmy Howard, who is out for at least a week with a groin injury.
The Red Wings will head back home to the Joe Louis Arena to host the Dallas Stars this Tuesday night at 7:30 pm.
