Howard makes 28 saves as Detroit shuts out Columbus, 5-0
Goaltender Jimmy Howard made 28 saves for his 19th career shutout and Tomas Tatar & Tomas Jurco each had a goal and an assist to help the Detroit Red Wings shut down the Columbus Blue Jackets, 5-0.
Gustav Nyquist, Riley Sheahan, & Darren Helm also scored and Brendan Smith added two assists to help Detroit snap a three-game road winless streak. The Red Wings scored twice on the powerplay and put the game out of reach with three 3rd-period goals.
Up next for Detroit is a trip to Canada for the weekend, beginning with a visit to Winnipeg to take on the Jets this Thursday night at 8 pm ET.
