Denzel Valentine had 25 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists as the Michigan State Spartans held the Michigan Wolverines scoreless in overtime to earn a 76-66 victory.

Michigan State shot just 29% in the 1st half, but came back to shoot 71% in the 2nd half. Spike Albrecht & Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman scored 18 points apiece and Zak Irvin added 11 points for the Wolverines.

Michigan (13-9, 6-4 Big Ten) will return to Ann Arbor to host Iowa this Thursday night at 7 pm while the Spartans (15-7, 6-3 Big Ten) will be back in action this Saturday afternoon in East Lansing to host Illinois at 12 pm.

Corey Petros scored 21 points as the Oakland Golden Grizzlies defeated the Youngtown State Penguins on the road,96-80.

Petros was 7-of-9 from the floor & 7-of-8 from the line, recorded seven rebounds, and had six assists. Dante Williams & Kahlil Felder both added 19 points for Oakland and Nick Daniels added 15 points off the bench.

The Golden Grizzlies (11-12, 6-2 HL) will begin a 3-game Horizon League road trip, beginning this Wednesday night when they travel to Chicago to face the UIC Flames at 8 pm.

Senior Shannon Smith led all Michigan women with 22 points, but a 26-5 second-half run by the Nebraska Cornhuskers turned the game around as the Wolverines lost, 75-60.

Along with eight rebounds & four assists, Smith was 7-of-13 from the field & 7-of-10 from the free throw line. Nicole Elmblad added 10 points & six rebounds and freshman Katelynn Flaherty had nine points.

Michigan (13-8, 5-5 Big Ten) will be back on the court this Thursday night when they travel to East Lansing to take on Michigan State at 7 pm.
