Michigan women & Central Michigan men come out victorious
The Michigan Wolverines forced 21 turnovers and had a 47-26 rebounding advantage to earn a convincing 79-43 win over the Canisius Golden Griffins at Crisler Center.
Michigan senior Cyesha Goree recorded her second straight double-double by finishing with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Katelynn Flaherty contributed with 18 points, shooting 7-of-11 from the floor, and making a pair of three-pointers.
The Wolverines will take the weekend off and return to the court in Ann Arbor this Monday at noon to face their in-state neighbors, Eastern Michigan.
Austin Keel came off the bench to score a career-high 18 points on 6-of-6 shooting as the Central Michigan Chippewas pulled away with a 97-60 win the Concordia Cardinals at McGuirk Arena.
Rayshawn Simmons finished with 15 points for CMU and Josh Kozinski matched his career-high with 12 points, as eight Chippewas scored at least seven points.
Central Michigan's (8-1) next game will be at McNeese State this Monday night at 8 pm.
