Despite rally, Tigers suffer another series sweep vs. A's, 7-5
Starting pitcher Jesse Hahn allowed one run in seven innings as the Oakland Athletics completed a three-game series sweep of Detroit, 7-5, thus handing the Tigers their 7th straight loss.
Detroit scored four times in the 9th inning, including a three-run homerun by Tyler Collins. This is the first time the Tigers have lost seven in a row since the spring of 2011, which was the year they began their current streak of four consecutive AL Central titles.
Up next for Detroit is a trip to the south side of Chicago to face the White Sox in a three-game weekend series, beginning this Friday night at 8 pm.
