Series sweep denied as Tigers fall to Cleveland, 8-2
Francisco Lindor reached base four times and hit his first career homerun to help the Cleveland Indians overwhelm the Detroit Tigers, 8-2.
Starting in place of Justin Verlander, who was scratched due to back stiffness, Buck Farmer allowed five runs on eight hits and two walks in 5 & 1/3 innings while striking out seven batters. Miguel Cabrera was given the day off, despite the hot streak he's been on lately.
After a long week of being on the road, Detroit returns home to Comerica Park to begin a four-game weekend series with the Chicago White Sox, which begins this Thursday afternoon at 1 pm.
