2011 DETROIT TIGERS
2011 DETROIT TIGERS
Tiger fans, it's time. Preseason, or as they say in the baseball world, spring training is over. We now go from the actual spring conditions of Lakeland, Florida to the still winter-like conditions of the Motor City & other cities in the east coast & midwest. The journey to reclaim the Central Divison title begins this Thursday at Yankee Stadium in New York City. Ravaged with injuries late in the season last year, the Tigers look to stay healthy and show the baseball world that they are a force to be reckoned with. With new key free agents, veteran play from stars like Justin Verlander & Miguel Cabrera, and honoring the late Sparky Anderson, the Detroit Tigers are ready to make a statement.

TIGERS 2011 SCHEDULE
The Tigers will begin their 2011 season on the road this weekend at Yankee Stadium against the New York Yankees. The first game is set to begin this Thursday at 1 pm in which Justin Verlander will go up against the Yankees' C.C. Sabathia in what promises to be a pitching duel. However, the weather may move the game to, at least, Friday. The forecast is calling for a mix of rain & snow for the New York area on Thursday.
After their weekend in the Big Apple, Detroit will head to Baltimore for a 3-game series with the Orioles. Next weekend, the Tigers will have their home opener against Kansas City, followed by a visit from the Texas Rangers. Interleague play this season will feature the World Series champion San Francisco Giants at Comerica Park to start off the month of July. The all-star break will held in Phoenix, Arizona on July 11 & 12. The last game of the regular season will be against the Cleveland Indians at Comerica Park on September 28. From there, Tiger fans are hopeful that they'll take part in postseason action in October. LET'S PLAY BALL!
