Cabrera's a hero with HR in 9th to give Tigers 4-2 win
With the game tied at two, Miguel Cabrera blasted a two-run home run in the top of the 9th with two out to lift the Detroit Tigers past the Chicago White Sox, 4-2. It was Cabrera's third homerun in the last five games.
Tigers' starting pitcher Justin Verlander was steady through eight innings, throwing 112 pitches, 78 for strikes, and yielding two earned runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out seven. He improved to 7-0 with a 2.06 ERA in his last seven starts against Chicago.
Detroit will attempt to close out the series against the White Sox this Sunday afternoon before heading down to Texas to face the Rangers in a 3-game series.
