The Detroit Tigers are on a mission to win the AL Central title and it showed as they tore apart Cleveland, 10-1 to bring their magic number down to 14. Not only did Cleveland get pushed back 8 1/2 games behind Detroit, they dropped down to 3rd place, thanks to the Chicago White Sox claiming 2nd place after shutting out Minnesota, 3-0. The Tigers look to complete the sweep of the Indians Wednesday when Justin Verlander takes the mound.

AL EAST - After a long rain delay, the N.Y. Yankees earned a victory over Baltimore, bringing their magic number down to only 20, thanks to Boston wiping out Toronto, 14-0.

AL WEST - By shutting out Tampa Bay, 8-0, Texas brought their magic number down to 17, thanks to the L.A. Angels losing to Seattle, 2-1.

AL WILD CARD - WIth Boston's win & Tampa Bay's loss, the Red Sox' magic number went down to 14.

NL EAST - Philadelphia continued to advance closer to the East title after defeating the Atlanta Braves, 6-3 and reducing their magic number to 14.

NL CENTRAL - Milwaukee's magic number stalls at 11 after losing to St. Louis, 4-2

NL WEST - Arizona's magic number remains at 15 after losing to Colorado, 8-3 and San Francisco taking care of business with the San Diego Padres, 6-4.

NL WILD CARD - Atlanta remains stuck with their magic number of 14 after losing to the Phillies wihile St. Louis & San Francisco won their games.

San Antonio needed one more win to enter the playoffs and have done so with flying colors. Becky Hammon nearly reached her game-high with 37 points as the Silver Stars took out the L.A. Sparks, 82-65. The 2011 WNBA playoff field is set (Indiana, Connecticut, New York, Atlanta, Minnesota, Phoenix, Seattle, & now San Antonio). All that remains is where each team will be seeded. The regular season ends this Sunday and the playoffs are set to begin on the 15th of September.
