Threat of rain moves Game 2 of DET-TEX to Monday at 4 pm
With an 80% chance of thunderstorms in the area, Game 2 of the 2011 American League Championship Series between the Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington has been postponed and rescheduled for Monday at 4 p.m. This gives the fans of Detroit a real treat for Monday, seeing their Tigers looking to even the series at one and watching their Detroit Lions of the NFL play at Ford Field for Monday Night Football.
Needing a comeback in the NL championship series opener, the Milwaukee Brewers turned to its power duo of Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder, then got a clutch hit from Yuniesky Betancourt to beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 9-6. Braun launched a two-run, 463-foot homer in the first inning and added a two-run double during a six-run burst in the fifth. Fielder hit a two-run homer and the typically light-hitting Betancourt added a two-run homer to cap it. Game 2 will be at Miller Park this Monday night with Shaun Marcum starting for the Brewers against former Detroit Tiger & current Cardinals pitcher, Edwin Jackson.
