Game 6 moved to Thursday night due to the threat of rain
Game 6 of the 2011 World Series between the Texas Rangers & the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium, that was set for Wednesday night, has been postponed to this Thursday night (Oct. 27) at 8 pm due to the possibility of heavy rain. The decision was made 4 1/2 hours before game time.
With the Rangers holding a 3-2 lead in the series, they could win it all on Thursday, but if there is to be a Game 7, it will be slated for Friday night at 8 pm.
Texas' Colby Lewis is still set to start against Cardinals pitcher Jaime Garcia. If St. Louis does force a Game 7, Cardinals manager Tony La Russa did mention the possibility of playing his ace, Chris Carpenter on three days’ rest.
