The Bearcats (10-3) capped the season with their third straight victory by snapping a two-game skid in bowl games. They also notched their fourth 10-win season in the last five years, bouncing back from 4-8 in 2010 during Jones’ first season.
Kevin Prince threw a costly interception that Terry Hawthorne returned for a touchdown which finished off the UCLA Bruins' forgettable season with a 20-14 loss to the Illinois Fighting Illini at the Fight Hunger Bowl in San Francisco, California.

Hurt by special teams breakdowns, the Virginia Cavaliers could not keep pace with the high-scoring Auburn Tigers as they lost, 43-24 in the Chick-fil-A Bowl at the Georgai Dome in Atlanta.
Onterio McCalebb scored on a 3-yard run and 25-yard catch while starting for Dyer. McCalebb had 109 yards rushing and Tre Mason added 64 yards rushing, including a 22-yard scoring run. Auburn (8-5) ran for 273 yards.
