Kings sweep Blues; Devils take command of Flyers, 3-1
Dustin Brown scored two goals and Jonathan Quick made 23 saves as the 8th-seeded Los Angeles Kings finished an improbable four-game sweep of the St. Louis Blues with a 3-1 victory to advance to the Western Conference Finals for just the second time in club history.
The L.A. Kings could possibly head to Phoenix to begin the Western Finals if the Coyotes finish off Nashville this Monday night in Game 5 of their conference semifinals. Phoenix currently holds a 3-1 series lead againat the Predators.
Dainius Zubrus scored two goals and the New Jersey Devils helped Martin Brodeur celebrate his 40th birthday by overcoming a two-goal deficit and pushing the Philadelphia Flyers to the brink of elimination with a 4-2 victory in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. With a 3-1 lead, the Devils will look to wrap up the series in Game 5 this Tuesday night in Philadelphia.
