The slumping Detroit Tigers lost their fourth game in a row, losing to the Chicago White Sox Monday night 6-1. Jose Quintana pitched 7 2/3 innings for the Sox, giving up just one run on seven hits while striking out seven and walking only two batters. Alex Rios and A.J. Pierzynski hit back to back home runs in the sixth inning, Gordon Beckham added a two-run shot in the eighth off reliever Octavio Dotel to make it 6-1. Rick Porcello pitched 5 1/3 innings for the Tigers, giving up five hits and four runs. Porcello was 3-0 against the White Sox this season, but he struggled to find his game tonight. Detroit scored its only run on the night when Jhonny Peralta drove in Delmon Young in the second inning. The Tigers have had trouble scoring runs all year and tonight they left six runners stranded. Detroit hopes to strike back on Tuesday night in game two of this pivotal four game series, as they send Doug Fister
(8-8, 3.54) to face Jake Peavy (10-10, 3.22)
