Lions struggle to score in loss to Bears on MNF, 13-7
Quarterback Jay Cutler returned after having his ribs bruised by Ndamukong Suh and Brian Urlacher made a key fumble recovery to help the Chicago Bears beat the Detroit Lions, 13-7 on Monday Night Football for their fourth straight win.
The Lions turned the ball over four times, including a big one early in the third quarter when Joique Bell fumbled at the goal line with the Bears leading 13-0. Ultimately, it resulted in Detroit suffering their fourth loss in five games.
Lions QB Matthew Stafford went 28-of-46 for 261 yards and with Bears defensive back Charles Tillman on him all night long, Calvin Johnson finished with just three catches for only 34 yards. However, Stafford did connect with Ryan Broyles for a 12-yard touchdown with 30 seconds left in the game to avoid a shutout,
The Lions lost more than just a game. Wide receiver Nate Burleson is out for the remainder of the season, due to a broken right leg that happened in the 3rd quarter on a hit by Tim Jennings after a catch.
Uo next for the Lions will be a home game this Sunday against Seattle at Ford Field, where the Seahawks were featured at Super Bowl XL.
